'n Maand en 'n half na die opwinding van ons onlangs suksesvolle Leeuwbult Bonsmara veiling, neem ek 'n oomblik om die draaikolk van emosies te beskryf wat saamgegaan het met hierdie jaar se onvergeetlike geleentheid. Die reis tot by die veiling was allesbehalwe gewoon, gevul met verwagting en gefokusde doelwitte.
Van die begin af was die pad na ons veiling een van opwinding en voorbereiding. Terwyl ons beeste deur die weivelde van die pragtige Mooifontein-plaas gestap het, het elke stap 'n getuienis geword van ons toewyding aan gehalte en uitnemendheid. Maar agter die skerms, in die stil ure van die oggende en die laat aande, was daar 'n stewige stutpilaar, my vrou Eloise, en die onwrikbare steun van ons gesin. Haar onvermoeide werk, en die aktiewe rol van ons kinders, George, Lené en Marguerite, het die ruggraat van hierdie suksesvolle veiling gevorm. Sonder hul opoffering, toewyding en liefde sou ons nie hierdie hoogtepunt kon bereik het nie, en dit is met 'n diep gevoel van dankbaarheid dat ek hul rol in ons reis erken.
Maar ons verhaal van toewyding strek verder as net ons gesin. Ons het twee ongelooflike kuddebestuurders, Hannes en Rehan, en hul families, wat gedurende die jaar groot opofferings maak om oor ons dierbare diere te waak. Hierdie passievolle individue het hul bloed, sweet en trane in ons veiling ingestort, en dit is met 'n warm hart en diep dankbaarheid dat ek hul rol in ons sukses erken.
Terwyl ek terugdink aan die opbou na die veiling, kan ek nie anders as om elke individu te waardeer wat betrokke was nie. Die toegewyde span, die ervare afslaer, die entoesiastiese bieders, en elke persoon wat op die dag teenwoordig was, het bygedra tot die sukses en gevoel van gemeenskap wat Leeuwbult Bonsmara beliggaam.
Die dag van die veiling self het uiteindelik aangebreek, en dit was 'n asemrowende ervaring. Terwyl die son oor die pragtige landskap van die Theunissen-distrik opkom, het die plaas tot lewe gekom met die geur van koffie, opgewondenheid en verwagting. Die aankoms van ou vriende en bekende gesigte het my hart laat sing en die gevoel van saamhoorigheid versterk. Die opwinding het in die lug gehang soos 'n elektriese vonk, en dit was duidelik dat hierdie dag iets besonders gaan wees.
En toe, in die magiese oomblik toe die laaste hamer val, het 'n golf van verligting en trots oor my gespoel. Die uitslae het die harde werk en toewyding weerspieël, en ons het besef dat ons grense verder as ooit tevore verskuif het. Dit was 'n oomblik om te koester, een wat ek met my gesin gedeel het terwyl ons die hoogtepunt van ons reis vier.
Die dae en weke na die veiling het 'n gevoel van rustige tevredenheid gebring. Dit was 'n tyd van refleksie, van erkenning van die stap vorentoe, en van dankbaarheid teenoor elke persoon wat ons ondersteun het. Terwyl ons ons oë op die horison van die nuwe jaar rig, voel ek die vlam van opwinding en belofte weer brand. Ons beplan reeds vir die toekoms, gestimuleer deur die sukses van hierdie jaar se veiling en die onwrikbare ondersteuning van ons gemeenskap.

A month and a half after the excitement of our recently successful Leeuwbult Bonsmara auction, I take a moment to describe the whirlwind of emotions that accompanied this year's unforgettable event. The journey to the auction was anything but ordinary, filled with anticipation and focused goals.
From the very beginning, the path to our auction was one of excitement and preparation. As we walked our cattle through the pastures of the beautiful Mooifontein farm, each step became a testament to our dedication to quality and excellence. But behind the scenes, in the quiet hours of the mornings and late evenings, stood a strong pillar of support - my wife, Eloise, and the unwavering backing of our family. Her tireless work, along with the active involvement of our children, George, Lené, and Marguerite, formed the backbone of this successful auction. Without their sacrifice, dedication, and love, we wouldn't have achieved this milestone, and it's with a deep sense of gratitude that I acknowledge their role in our journey.
But our tale of dedication extends beyond just our family. We have two incredible herd managers, Hannes and Rehan, and their families, who make significant sacrifices throughout the year to watch over our cherished animals. These passionate individuals have poured their blood, sweat, and tears into our auction, and it is with a warm heart and deep gratitude that I acknowledge their role in our success.
As I reflect on the buildup to the auction, I can't help but appreciate each individual who was involved.
